Dr. Franklin Ard, Executive Director of Student Success Programs
Franklin Ard has served in student academic support roles in higher education for
over ten years and as a writing instructor for over fourteen years. He started his
career in academic support as the manager of the University of South Alabama’s writing
center and then as the director of the University’s large multi-functional tutoring
center that provided both writing and subject-area tutoring.
He began a new role at Kennesaw State University in August 2023 as Director of Academic
Student Support Services. In this capacity, he oversees the PFL program and academic
success initiatives for first-generation college students. In his free time, he enjoys
spending time with his wife and two-year-old son, writing fiction and poetry, and
reading books of all genres.
