  • Dual Enrollment seniors who wish to continue at KSU after high school graduation will need to complete the following steps.

#1 Apply to KSU with a shorter application: Click here!
The best time to apply for the upcoming Fall semester is October-December of the previous year. Benefits to applying early include more time for applying for internal and external scholarships, better registration times, and more housing and parking options.

Once you have been accepted as a degree-seeking student, you may continue with Step #2.

#2 Sign up for New Student Orientation: Click here!
This is different than the Orientation you completed when you were accepted as a DE student.

#3 Sign up for Pre-Orientation advising once you have your Orientation date.

    • If you have a declared major, see your major advisor: Click here!
    • If you are undecided on your major: Click here!

Use this time to discuss classes, schedules, KSU life and more with your advisor.

#4 Explore scholarships and Financial Aid:

    • Learn more about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Georgia Student Finance Application (GSFAPP) by talking with your Financial Aid counselor. Contact yours here!
    • Internal scholarships are due on March 1st. Go to kennesaw.scholarshipuniverse.com and sign in with your KSU credentials to get started.

#5 Check out Housing, Parking, Owl Life, and Meal Plans!

For any questions about transitioning from Dual Enrollment to a degree-seeking student, please contact Angelia Burruss at aburrus2@kennesaw.edu.

  • Students can attend advising appointments either in-person or virtually via Microsoft Teams. Students will need to log in to Microsoft Teams with their KSU login information.

New DE students will receive an email to their KSU student email address 24-48 hours after attending a Dual Enrollment Orientation session with instructions on how to schedule an appointment.

Current DE students will receive an email to their KSU student email address with instructions on how to schedule an appointment.

Having difficulty scheduling your appointment? Please visit the KSU Advising website’s EAB | Navigate tutorial.

  • Drop-in Advising sessions are first-come, first-served advising sessions. You do not need an appointment for drop-ins. Simply arrive during one of the times listed for your advising center and join the waitlist. You will meet with the next available advisor. If advisors are currently meeting with other students, there may be a short wait. Our goal is to assist you as quickly as possible. Wait times to see an advisor can vary, so plan accordingly.

New DE students should anticipate their drop-in sessions to last approximately one hour. New DE students should arrive for drop-in advising at least 30 minutes before the end of the designated drop-in times. Students arriving after that time may not be able to meet with an advisor that day.

Current DE students should anticipate their drop-in sessions to last up to 30 minutes. Current DE students should arrive for drop-in advising at least 20 minutes before the end of the designated drop-in times. Students arriving after that time may not be able to meet with an advisor that day.

For updated drop-in times, please visit the KSU Advising website’s Drop-In Advising Hours and click “Owl Advising-Dual Enrollment.”

  • Q: How should I prepare for my Dual Enrollment Advising appointment?
A: Meet with your high school counselor about what classes you will be taking at KSU prior to your appointment. We recommend setting up your KSU student email signature and using the Class Schedule Search to look for classes that fit with your high school schedule before attending.

Q: There is a Dual Enrollment hold on my account. How can I resolve this?
A: You must meet with your Dual Enrollment Advisor before the Dual Enrollment hold can be lifted. We recommend you schedule an appointment or attend a drop-in advising session as soon as possible.

Q: I can’t look at classes because there’s a hold on my account. What do I do?
A: Even if you have a hold on your account, you can still look at classes using the Class Schedule Search under the Registration tab in Owl Express or by Googling “KSU Dynamic Schedule.”

Q: I need to make a change to my schedule. How can I do that?
A: Please ensure that you have approval for the change from your high school counselor. Once you have approval, contact your Dual Enrollment Advisor with a detailed message about the changes you want to make. Your Dual Enrollment Advisor will provide information about the availability of your requested classes and instructions on how to adjust your schedule.

Q: Can my Dual Enrollment Advisor make changes to my schedule on my behalf?
A: No, your Dual Enrollment Advisor cannot make changes to your schedule.

Q: Can my Dual Enrollment Advisor request special permission for me to get into a closed, waitlisted, or restricted class?
A: No, your Dual Enrollment Advisor cannot do this.

Q: I am seeing an error when I try to register for my class. What do I do?
A: Check to make sure that you are registering for a section that does not have any restrictions by looking at the course section number or by clicking the name of the class in the Class Schedule Search

    • DE students can only register for class sections with just numbers or a "W" for online. Section numbers with other letters are reserved for specific student populations, and DE students cannot register for those sections.
    • Some online sections are restricted for Online Learners, degree-seeking students at KSU who complete their major program 100% online. Dual Enrollment students will not be able to register for these sections.

Q: I am receiving emails from the Bursar’s Office about a balance due. Do Dual Enrollment students have to pay for their classes?
A: Dual Enrollment students may receive automated emails or text messages from the Bursar’s Office before their funding is applied. Students can typically disregard these notifications unless they are taking courses with lab fees, non-funded courses, or are self-pay. Parking permits, meal plans, or other out-of-pocket expenses will be the student’s responsibility. Please consult the GA Futures Dual Enrollment Course Directory to ensure your courses are funded and email the DEP Office at depoffice@kennesaw.edu for updates about your funding application.

Q: How do I check my funding status for Dual Enrollment?
A: Please email the DEP Office at depoffice@kennesaw.edu for all funding-related questions.

Q: How do I get my Talon Card, parking permit, and textbooks?
A: The DEP Office will send messages to students’ KSU student email addresses with information on how to schedule an appointment with the TalonOne ID card center, purchase a parking permit, and pick up textbooks for their courses. For specific questions, please email the DEP Office depoffice@kennesaw.edu.
