AP, DE, IB, and other Transfer Credit

 

• How do I send AP scores to KSU?
  • Contact the College Board to request your official AP test scores to be sent to KSU to receive credit.
  • Credit is not awarded based upon high school transcripts. 
• I took AP exams in May and do not know my score(s) yet, what do I do?
  • Talk with your Advisor!
  • Depending on your intended major there may be alternative courses you can register for, or you may be advised to register based on potentially not receiving credit. Once your scores have been received and evaluated, your scheduled can be changed later in the Summer if necessary.
• What do I get credit for based on my score(s)?
  • Review the "Credit-by-Exam" table for current transfer equivalences for AP exams.

• I took DE classes at another college/university, how do I get my credit sent to KSU?
  • All Dual Enrollment credit must be sent via official transcript from the college/university you attended.
    • Contact the Registrar's office of your Dual Enrollment institution if you are unsure how to request your transcript.
  • Credit is not awarded based upon high school transcripts. 
• I think my dual enrollment class was called something different than it is at KSU, where can I check to see if they are the same class?
  • Have you submitted your transcript to KSU? If so, once it has been evaluated by our Registrar's office you can then view your KSU transcript in Owl Express to see what your DE credit was evaluated as.
  • If you are still waiting on your transcript to be evaluated or have not yet sent it you can manually search for your equivalencies in the Transfer Credit Database.

• How do I send IB scores to KSU?
  • For IB results or IB transcript, please visit www.ibo.org and request a official hard copy be mailed to KSU.
  • Credit is not awarded based upon high school or college transcripts.
• I took IB exams in May and do not know my score(s) yet, what do I do?

• I am transferring to KSU from another institution. How can I see what my credit will come into to KSU as?

• I received credit for something I think could go towards my degree, but DegreeWorks is not counting it. What should I do?
  • Talk to your advisor! Some courses may be equivalent enough to a KSU course that a "substitution" can be initiated by your advisor and then sent for approval by the appropriate department.
    • Be prepared to provide your advisor the course description or syllabus from the class!
• I believe I received credit-by-exam from a test other than AP or IB. Where can I look to see if I will get credit at KSU?
